Objective of Program:

Tech +T Certification is sponsored by The USCertify. The primary objective of this organization, founded in 1994, is to offer a comprehensive approach to troubleshooting problems associated with software, hardware, operating systems, and other related PC issues

Tech +T Certification Standards:
Tech +T members will be required to have an understanding of the current methodologies used to diagnose and troubleshoot PC problems as measured by comprehensive exam. The exam will cover support for Windows 95T, Windows 98T, networking, and optimizing the computer for maximal performance. Passing of the certification exam will indicate a winning ability to provide solutions in today's complex and continually changing computer industry.

Tech +T Certification Materials: Each Tech +T student seeking certification will be required to obtain a copy of the 8th Edition or higher of Upgrading and Repairing PC's, published by QUE, and available at most bookstores. Questions for the exam will be drawn from this book, as well as video tapes provided by the Institute, and will relate to actual, day-to-day computer problems. The exam will be multiple-choice, open-book, not timed, and can be retaken if necessary. A score of 95 or higher will demonstrate proficiency.

Benefits of Tech +T Certification:

  • Proficiency and knowledge of PC repair and upgrading
  • Credibility as a certified professional
  • Access to technical materials made available by the Institute for current and continued training
  • Investment return through increased hiring and promotion potential within businesses and industries

Tech +T Certification Coverage: Following successful completion of exams, Tech +T certified members will have a combination of methods of accessing information about IBM and IBM- compatible computers. Such mastery will provide fast and effective means of determining the repair and upgrade needs of a PC. Areas of mastery include, but not limited to:

  • Hard Drive Diagnostics: tips for configuring Hard drive for storing and transferring data will be covered. In-depth coverage of the format and fdisk commands will be explored with respect to their usefulness in correctly setting up a hard drive.
  • Parallel/Serial Port Test: ways of determining whether printer and mouse ports are defective through loopback tests will be covered.
  • Motherboard/CPU Test: the "heart" and "brain" of the computer will be explored here with respect to determining overall computer performance and board vs. chip compatibility issues.
  • BIOS Setup: tips for optimizing motherboard, RAM, and processor or cpu resources will be addressed.
  • IRQ & DMA Tests: System resource conflict resolution will be explored.
  • PC Assembly and Networking: Video tapes provided as part of the course material will demonstrate how to assemble and setup PC's, as well as the hardware and software setup of a Windows-based LAN.

Cost of Tech +T Plus Certification: For $199.00 US , plus $10.00 shipping and handling, you will receive your enrollment paperwork, exam, and study materials on video cassette. You will also receive your attractive and impressive diploma, as well as certification logos for your business cards and letterhead. Your diploma will be dated two weeks into the future, and will not be considered valid until you complete the coursework. For this reason, you will need to send your name as you wish it to appear on your diploma, when you send in your payment. Don't miss this rare opportunity to become a certified computer technician.

College Credits: The Certification is awarded by USCertify, which is associated with The Holy Trinity College and Seminary, licensed by the State of Florida, Department of Independent Colleges and Universities. College transcripts listing semester credit hours (accepted by many universities) are available upon completion of this coursework.
