Objective of Program:

PC Master TechnicianT Certification is sponsored by The USCertify. The primary objective of this organization, founded in 1994, is to offer a comprehensive approach to troubleshooting problems associated with software, hardware, operating systems, and other related PC issues

 


PC Master TechnicianT Certification Standards: Graduates will be required to have an understanding of the current methods used to build, repair and upgrade personal computers, as measured by comprehensive exam. The exam will cover support for Windows 9X, networking, and optimizing the computer for maximal performance. Passing the certification exam will indicate a winning ability to provide solutions in today's complex and continually changing computer industry.

PC Master TechnicianT Certification Materials: Each student will receive course instructions, video tapes, exam and Diploma. Questions for the exam will be drawn from video tapes provided by the Institute, and will relate to actual, day-to-day computer problems. The exam will be multiple-choice, not timed, and can be retaken if necessary. A score of 90% or higher will demonstrate proficiency.

PC Master TechnicianT Certification Coverage:
Following successful completion of exams, certified alumni will have a combination of methods of accessing information about IBM and IBM-compatible computers. Such mastery will provide fast and effective means of determining the repair and upgrade needs of a Personal Computer. Areas of mastery include, but are not limited to:

(1) Hard Drive Setup: Tips for configuring Hard Drives to store and transfer data will be covered.

(2) Motherboard/CPU Installation: The "heart" and "brain" of the computer will be explored here, with respect to safe and proper setup.

(3) BIOS Setup: Instruction for optimizing motherboard, RAM, and processor or CPU resources will be addressed.

(4) IRQ & DMA Tests: System resource conflict resolution will be explored.

(5) PC Assembly and Networking: Demonstration of how to assemble and setup PC's, as well as the hardware and software setup of a Windows-based LAN.
